In a heartwarming initiative aimed at enhancing digital learning, the non-profit organization Gadgets for Ghana (G4G) has stepped forward to support the Dzorwulu Special School by donating laptops and tablets tailored for children with special needs. The donation, which took place on a Tuesday, forms part of G4G’s vision to bridge the digital divide in Ghana, especially for underserved communities. Nigel Nettey, co-founder of Gadgets for Ghana, addressed attendees at the presentation ceremony, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to making technology accessible for all. "We believe that access to technology should not be a privilege but a right," he stated. “Our hope is that these devices will help the students explore new ways of learning, express themselves creatively, and ultimately improve their academic experience.”

The Dzorwulu Special School was chosen as a key beneficiary due to its focus on children with diverse learning abilities. Gadgets for Ghana was founded by a group of ambitious young individuals—Kofi Fynn, Nigel Nettey, Maame Adwoa Owusu-Brefo, Joshua Agbey, and Kwamina Fynn—who are all students passionate about technology and community service. Their collective aim is to leverage their skills and youthful energy to make a lasting impact on society. Maame Adwoa Owusu-Brefo articulated the essence of their mission when she said, “In today’s digital world, every child deserves the opportunity to learn with modern tools. These gadgets are devices that would be the gateways to possibilities.”

Received with heartfelt appreciation, Roland Odiade, the Senior House Master at the Dzorwulu Special School, expressed his gratitude for the timely donation. “Some of our children struggle to use traditional computer accessories like the mouse because of the nature of their hands. The tablets and laptops will make it much easier for them to participate in ICT lessons and other classroom activities,” he stated, highlighting the practical impact of the donation.

Among the excited students was Emmanuella Apaabey, who couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. She expressed her eagerness to use the new devices in class, saying, “We are very happy and grateful. Earlier this year, Gadgets for Ghana also made a similar donation to the Akua Kuenyehia Foundation (AKF) in Accra, exemplifying their ongoing commitment to digital inclusion and empowerment. Kwamina Fynn noted that the group plans to further expand its reach through more partnerships and school outreach programs, ensuring that more communities can benefit from access to technology.
