Oppo Incorporates Google Gemini AI into Find X9 Series Smartphones - Tech Digital Minds
New Delhi — In a significant move that highlights the rapidly evolving landscape of mobile technology, Oppo has announced its collaboration with Google to integrate the cutting-edge Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its upcoming Find X9 Series smartphones. This partnership is set to bring a suite of personalized AI features, innovative on-device tools, and robust privacy measures aimed at enhancing user experience.
Oppo has expressed its commitment to enriching mobile AI functionality through the integration of Google’s Gemini. This collaboration seeks to create a seamless experience for users, enabling more intuitive interactions with applications and content management across devices. By leveraging Gemini, Oppo aims to deploy sophisticated AI models while maintaining a secure environment for user data.
Kai Tang, President of Software Engineering at Oppo, articulated the company’s vision: "Our goal is to develop AI experiences that balance personalization and privacy. Working closely with partners like Google allows us to integrate next-generation AI experiences that are not only powerful but also highly personalized and secure." This focus on personalization and security is crucial in an age where data privacy is a growing concern for many consumers.
A standout feature of this partnership is the introduction of Mind Space, a revolutionary app included in the Find X9 Series smartphones. Mind Space serves as a digital hub, helping users collect, save, and organize information with ease. Utilizing a simple three-finger swipe, users can save text, images, or web pages, which the app then categorizes automatically. This functionality allows for unrivaled organization of personal content, making it easier than ever to keep track of important information.
Oppo has worked closely with Google to ensure that Mind Space is fully compatible with the Gemini AI assistant. This integration allows users to take meaningful actions on the content stored in Mind Space while maintaining control over the data that Gemini can access. For instance, a user could save travel notes and later instruct Gemini to generate a tailored itinerary based on that information. This capability exemplifies the potential for AI to enhance daily tasks, making technology more user-friendly.
Beyond Mind Space, the integration of Gemini extends to other Oppo applications within the Find X9 Series. Users will have access to a range of functionalities powered by Gemini, such as the ability to share on-screen content for assistance or enhance photos using a state-of-the-art image editing model named Nano Banana.
Moreover, the Gemini Live feature will enable users to inquire about content displayed on their phone screens or through the camera. For example, if a user is viewing a landmark, they could ask Gemini to provide historical information or trivia, enriching their experience in real time.
Oppo has emphasized that data protection is at the core of this collaboration with Google. The companies are implementing the Oppo AI Private Computing Cloud, which operates on Google Cloud’s confidential computing services. This framework is designed to keep data encrypted and inaccessible to unauthorized parties, including Oppo itself. Such measures ensure that sensitive information used for AI processing remains secure, offering users peace of mind as they embrace new technologies.
AI functionalities such as Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, and AI Writer, will operate under this secure framework. These features reflect a holistic approach to integrating AI into the smartphone experience, addressing various user needs from productivity to creativity.
The Oppo Find X9 Series was officially launched in China on October 16, 2025, coinciding with Oppo’s 30th-anniversary celebrations. An international introduction is slated for October 28 in Barcelona, with a subsequent release in India anticipated for November 2025.
Pricing for the Find X9 Series begins at approximately $611 (₹51,000) for the standard model, while the Find X9 Pro starts around $736 (₹61,500). The higher-storage options, which can go up to 1TB, cater to users who require more space for their multimedia needs. Oppo Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu has touted the Find X9 Pro as “the most worthy camera to buy within 10,000 yuan (about $1,408 or ₹1.17 lakh),” highlighting its premium features.
The Find X9 Series boasts significant hardware advancements, including the Hasselblad Ultra-Clear Quad-Camera Imaging System and the LUMO Intelligent Video System, which facilitate 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision recording. These features make the series stand out, particularly among photography enthusiasts.
The smartphones are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor and incorporate Oppo’s Tidal Engine, optimizing gaming performance and energy efficiency. Additionally, the Find X9 Series has been designated as the official imaging device for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, underscoring its capabilities in high-stakes environments.
In terms of aesthetics and durability, the smartphones feature a new “Velvet Sand Process” finish that enhances both appearance and longevity. This combination of innovation and design reflects Oppo’s commitment to delivering top-tier devices that meet the diverse needs of modern consumers.
With the integration of Google’s Gemini AI technology, Oppo is setting a new standard for smartphone capabilities, merging cutting-edge AI functionality with a focus on user control and data privacy in the Find X9 Series.
