Pakistan Unveils 36 Tech Companies and Startups at GITEX 2025 - Tech Digital Minds
Pakistan is making waves at GITEX 2025, one of the world’s foremost technology exhibitions taking place in Dubai. The event, which opened its doors today, is a focal point for major advancements in technology and innovation, setting the stage for countries like Pakistan to shine.
At this year’s GITEX, the Pakistan Pavilion stands out with 26 leading IT companies and 10 innovative startups on display. Their participation highlights the country’s growing capabilities in software exports, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge technologies. This collective showcase is organized by TechDestination in partnership with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), illustrating a coordinated effort to amplify the nation’s digital presence.
This year’s participation is poised to build upon the remarkable success of GITEX 2024, where Pakistan was honored as the "TechDestination of the Year." The previous event generated an impressive USD 10.5 million in business leads, setting high expectations for 2025. The historical context underscores a commitment to not just participate, but to establish Pakistan as a formidable player in the tech landscape.
The pavilion adopts a theme of "Think Tech, Think Pakistan," strategically positioning the country as a gateway for innovation, collaboration, and investment. This powerful slogan encapsulates Pakistan’s ambition to be a hub in the global digital economy, attracting international partners and fostering technological advancement.
In a bid to enhance branding visibility, Pakistani exhibitors are receiving targeted promotional support and access to specialized networking locales, such as the Connexons Lounge. This area is tailored for business-to-business meetings, allowing companies to forge valuable connections and explore potential collaborations in a conducive environment.
Representing the nation at GITEX 2025 is Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja. Her presence underscores the government’s active role in supporting the tech sector. The Minister is set to deliver a keynote address titled "Pakistan’s AI & Connectivity Drive: A Model for Emerging Economies.” This presentation will showcase the country’s strides in artificial intelligence and digital connectivity, emphasizing innovation-driven growth.
Khawaja’s agenda is packed with high-level meetings that aim to foster international collaboration. Scheduled interactions with the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, along with representatives from Romania and Slovenia, underline Pakistan’s commitment to global partnership in areas like AI, cybersecurity, and digital governance.
A notable event during the delegation’s visit will be the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan’s National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) and Kaspersky, a global leader in cybersecurity. This collaboration aims to bolster Pakistan’s capabilities in safeguarding its digital infrastructure against threats, showing the nation’s proactive stance in tackling cybersecurity challenges.
Accompanying Minister Khawaja are several key figures, including Faisal Ratyal, CEO of the National Information Technology Board (NITB), and Muhammad Abu Bakr, CEO of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). Their collective expertise and leadership reflect a strong commitment from the government to drive the IT sector forward, ensuring that Pakistan remains a competitive player in the global tech arena.
As GITEX 2025 unfolds, the representation of Pakistan emphasizes not only the nation’s achievements but also its aspirations for future growth, positioning it as a serious contender in the evolving digital landscape.
