UAlbany Introduces Master's Degree in AI for Business - Tech Digital Minds
The University at Albany, home to innovative educational programs, recently elevated its academic offerings with the launch of the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence for Business at the Massry School of Business. The M.S. in AI for Business comprises 30 credits and is part of UAlbany’s ambitious AI Plus initiative. The newly introduced degree is designed for flexibility, allowing students to complete the program in one academic year through full-time study or over two years on a part-time basis. According to Sanjay Goel, the architect of the program and chair of UAlbany’s Department of Information Security and Digital Forensics, the capability of AI to identify patterns and generate insights can be transformative across various industries. The curriculum not only aims to build core knowledge but also emphasizes applied training, thereby preparing graduates to thrive in an AI-driven economy.
The launch of this program aligns with broader state-level initiatives aimed at enhancing AI infrastructure. New York State has committed historic investments to support AI research and workforce development, notably through a significant partnership with IBM to establish a Center for Emerging Artificial Intelligence Systems. This $20 million investment, part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s $400 million public-private strategy, positions upstate New York as a premier hub for AI innovation.
