Ukrainian Startups Stand Out at the Nordic Deep Tech Business Summit 2025

A vibrant wave of innovation surged through the Nordic Deep Tech Business Summit 2025, the largest event in Scandinavia dedicated to deep tech. This year, a delegation of Ukrainian startups stood front and center, showcasing their cutting-edge technologies to an audience that included thousands of startups, investors, scientists, and tech hubs from across Europe. The event was not just a networking opportunity; it became a launchpad for these startups to cement their position in the evolving landscape of deep tech.

According to a report from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukraine was represented by a diverse array of startups, each focused on advanced technologies that promise to reshape industries. Notable participants included Aspichi, DOFamine, Explogen, Geodesic.Life, HEFT, MARVILON, Peony, and Synteza. Each of these startups brought unique innovations to the table, illustrating the depth and breadth of talent emanating from Ukraine’s tech ecosystem.

Over the course of the two-day summit, Ukrainian teams engaged in a series of fruitful interactions. They held nearly 100 meetings with representatives from various European investment funds, innovation structures, and universities. This networking has led to promising partnerships in the pipeline, which could propel many of these startups to new heights.

In addition to expanding their network, the Ukrainian delegation established connections with key international organizations, including giants like Sumitomo Electric Industries, Iron Wolf Capital, ZAZ Ventures, Sandwaters, BSV Ventures, Natural Resources Institute Finland, and the Helsinki Health Cluster. These collaborations may well serve as a gateway for Ukrainian startups to enter new markets and technological dialogues.

Business agreements were signed and interest was expressed by esteemed institutions like Aalto University, University of Helsinki, University of Tampere, Urban Tech Helsinki, Kemira, and Quriegene. These connections are not just a sign of success; they represent the potential for innovative collaborations that can drive research and development in various sectors.

The summit also provided invaluable expert feedback to startups, allowing them to fine-tune their offerings for the Nordic market. Notably, many Ukrainian teams explored collaboration opportunities with Finnish universities, institutions that are increasingly supportive of the burgeoning deep tech ecosystem. Among them, Geodesic.Life announced ambitious plans to begin constructing a pilot ecological dome house in the Nordics next year, signaling their commitment to sustainability and innovation in building technologies.

This year’s event was a powerful demonstration of Ukraine’s growing role in Europe’s deep tech landscape. By forging strong ties with the Nordic innovation ecosystem, Ukrainian startups are not only expanding their horizons but are also contributing to a collective effort aimed at addressing some of the most pressing challenges in technology today.
