The New Year often symbolizes fresh beginnings, and for the tech landscape in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), January 4, 2022, marked a significant milestone. The marketing automation software company, Review Wave, announced its relocation to McKinney, making it the first transplant tech company of the year in the region.
Founded in 2016, Review Wave is leaping from its current base in Irvine, California, to the bustling tech hub of McKinney. The company’s primary focus is to enhance the patient experience in medical clinics through its software as a service (SaaS) offerings. Their intuitive platform not only assists doctors in scheduling appointments but also automates patient reminders and facilitates SMS communication. Furthermore, Review Wave helps direct patients towards writing online reviews, bridging the gap between healthcare providers and their patients.
Review Wave has secured the third floor of the 300 East Davis building, a prime location near downtown McKinney. Initially, the company will operate from a 12,000-square-foot space but has plans to expand into the full 20,697-square-foot office as it grows.
The move is backed by an agreement with the McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering new business development in the city. As part of this agreement, Review Wave is set to create 73 new tech and executive roles over the next three years, with an enticing average salary of $76,000. This expansion will see Review Wave’s employee count soar from 57 to 130, significantly contributing to local employment.
“The Review Wave team has been a pleasure to collaborate with, and we are thrilled to welcome them to McKinney,” remarked Peter Tokar, president of the MEDC, in a recent release. His enthusiasm reflects the anticipation that McKinney has for embracing new businesses and the growth they bring.
The strategic move to DFW aims to accelerate growth for Review Wave. The company has showcased impressive growth metrics, having been featured in the Inc. 500 list for three consecutive years. Their aspirations for a fourth consecutive appearance illustrate their ambition and the proactive steps they’re taking in relocating.
According to Miguel Esparza, a project manager at the MEDC, Review Wave is on track to complete its move into the new headquarters by mid-January. “We’re ecstatic about Review Wave starting the year strong in McKinney,” he added, emphasizing the promising future that lies ahead.
McKinney has emerged as a tech-friendly city, attracting several startups over the years. Alongside Review Wave, notable companies like Language Learning Market, ContraForce, and ShearShare have established their headquarters in the area. This trend points to McKinney’s growing reputation as a central hub for tech innovation, embodying a vibrant ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship and growth.
Recently, other tech companies like CourMed, MyTelemedicine, and Robin Autopilot have also opened their doors in the city, further solidifying McKinney’s position as a magnet for tech ventures. As more companies choose to plant their roots in this flourishing environment, the city’s potential for tech development appears boundless.
